The rebel commander breathed his last breath before dying. His grip loosened as his body fell to the ground.
The ring hummed as she completed one of the trials.
After a moment, he turned into motes of energy that entered her body, strengthening bolstering her cultivation.

Ming Yue whipped her sword, cleaning off the blood before looking up at the sky. It grew darker as small dots came closer. The ground rumbled from the countless creatures rushing towards her.
