Yu Zi knitted her eyebrows together and asked, "How can you order take-out? Why don't you eat something in the shops nearby?"
Yan Huaian was pleased when Yu Zi asked him this in a caring voice as he replied, "No, it's okay. I just ate whatever I had for lunch."
He wanted to say that he was busy with work, but then remembered that he told Yu Zi that he was not busy. If he said this then there would be a contradiction.
What if Yu Zi hung up so as to not disturb his work?
However, apparently, Yu Zi was rational when she was not talking to him face to face.
"Are you so busy that you can't go out to eat? Are you working now?" Yu Zi asked.
Yan Huaian did not say anything. He did not want to lie to her.
Yu Zi pursed her lips together. "You should continue with your work then, I'm gonna hang up."
"Wait." Yan Huaian stopped her.
There was silence on the other side of the phone, so Yan Huaian was not sure if she had hung up or not.
