Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A Father's Heart

Even though Aisha was just his adopted child, he still cared for her like his own flesh and blood. There was this unexplainable connection between them. Aisha treated him as her own father too. One can ever distinguish that they were not connected by blood because of their father and daughter relationship. They're just too good to be true.

Demetrius enrolled her in a prestigious school. She was naturally intelligent. She excelled academically and was a black belter taekwondo champion when she was in high school. His father also taught her how to fight. She knew how to use a gun. While she was growing up, she enjoyed all the physical trainings her father taught her. Then one day he introduced her to their Mafia organization as the heiress. She was still young that time and she didn't understand what had transpired that day. Little did she know that her fate as the heiress was sealed that very moment and her enemies grew in number as days passes by.

Some elders acknowledged her as the heiress but others didn't. They were afraid to speak up. No one dared to defy their Chief Head's order. Some even plotted against her life secretly. She didn't know that even her trusted family members wanted to take her life. Death threats were constantly being sent to her.

Unknown to Demetrius, Aisha had been receiving death threats since she was proclaimed the heiress. She doesn't want to worry his old age father so she didn't even tell him about it.

There was this time when Aisha was nearly killed in a stampede at one of their owned mall. One of the mafia elder saw her and commanded his security guards to save her. When the situation was neutralized, it was said that it was cause by a forged bomb threat alarm. His father Demetrius nearly got a heart attack when he heard about it, so he ordered some men to watch over Aisha wherever she go. Her freedom became limited.

There was also a time when Aisha was abducted. His father ordered an operational search, even the northern police district cooperated. The Northern country looked like a warzone in search of her.

When they found Aisha, she was covered by bruises and blood covered her shirt. She was lying unconsciously on the floor. Her father thought she was dead because they can't see any bodies around. But miraculously, she was still breathing very weakly. So they rushed her to the nearest hospital.

Demetrius and his men didn't catch the culprit. Whoever that was, that person was very cunning and did a very clean work. When Aisha woke up, she relayed the whole story to him. She said that someone abducted her when she got out from school. She didn't know where they took her. She was blindfolded. But she fought back and was able to injure those men. She passed out after, that was the time when her Father's men found her unconscious.

Her father Demetrius has a lot of enemies and it cannot be help. Since they couldn't lay their fingers on him, they targeted her daughter instead. That's why he had to teach his daughter everything she needed to know to protect herself from all the threats lurking around her. Even the underworld transactions were not hidden to her.

"Chief head, we received a letter from Aisha." It was his brother Liam who handed it to him. He opened it to read what was written.

Old man!

Hey dad! I know you miss me so much and you've been looking for me everywhere. Haha, but don't worry, I'm okay and I'm in a safe place. Please don't look for me further. I will come home when the time is right. I will call you next time, I promise.

Sorry that I wrote to you just now, I was a little busy settling in this new place. Everything here is new to me but I am enjoying it. I want to explore the world for a while. I will write to you soon. But please relax and don't stress yourself too much. I can handle myself.

P.S. I love you dad! Please be healthy. Who knows when I come back you already have a grandson. Haha.

Love,

Aisha.

Demetrius burst in anger after reading it.

"This ungrateful child! Why should she write a letter after 2 months and not leaving any information at all! Is she even eating properly? She does not even know how to cook her own food! And what is this grandson thing, is this a joke?" Demetrius frustratingly lit up a cigarette.

After a while, he calmed down. His thoughts were afar while looking at the vast horizon before him. At the thought of her lively Aisha, Demetrius smiled.

"So Brother, what will we do now?" Liam asked.

''What else should we do with your foolish niece?'' He heaved a sigh. "Order the men to stop searching for her. I trained her very well. In situations like this, we will be having a hard time finding her. Just let her have the freedom she wants."

"Aye, Brother." Liam walked out the door. He took his phone and dialed a number.

"Yes boss?" The man on the other line answered.

"Order the men to stop searching…"

"Yes boss!''

"But as for you, continue searching. I don't care if you flip the whole country just so you can find her. But remember to report everything to me. Don't let my brother found out that you are looking for her."

"Yes boss... but I already search the North, and she's not everywhere…" The man reported.

"Then expand your search. She is very cunning. She won't stay where her father can easily find her…"

"Yes, boss. I understand. I have already contacted our men in the countryside."

"The money is already in your bank account. Call me if you or your men needs more…"

"Yes, boss!"

Liam ended the call as he looked outside his office, he grinned evilly.
