He quickly walked back out, not bothering to close the door. He stood there waiting, but after a minute, he began squirming. He tried holding his legs together, jogging in place, doing jumping jacks, and what seemed like an uncountable number of push-ups to distract himself from the increasing need to use the restroom.
He was so accustomed to having the use of his private bathroom that it never occurred to him to use the one available in the guest room.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the activity outside the door. It could have been anyone out there, jumping around like a crazy person. She was in such a daze; she wouldn't have noticed regardless.Β
