The man looked surprised and a sudden displeased look washed over his face. "That's my line."
She remembered that she was on top of the hill and was suddenly distressed. Seeing him here unexpected, she was confused and had forgotten that she had lied to him.
The man closed the distance between them and asked solemnly, "Why are you here? What about your friend and her wayward son?"
Helen sighed and looked into her husband's eyes. "I didn't mean to lie to you. If I told you the truth, you would have been worried about me."
"Oh? May I know what this concerning 'truth' is?" Julius did not believe a word she was saying.
