He turned off his laptop and returned to his previous position on her side, lying on the bed and holding her in his arms. He didn't know what exactly to say in response to her statement just now. What was he supposed to tell her?
She sounded like she didn't care in the slightest, but he could not be so sure. Women were good in hiding their own feelings and she was best at it. What if deep down she was disheartened?
She adjusted herself so she was lying comfortably in his embrace then started, "You don't have to waste your time trying to do the impossible. You can save yourself the trouble sooner, you know."
He understood what she meant by him troubling himself but he still asked, "What makes you think I am troubling myself by trying to do the impossible?"
