Chapter 5 - A New Home

When Qin Mei returned with Little Bo to the entrance that Qin Mei and Lin Xiaoxiao had exited from earlier. The guard did not stop them from entering and just waved them on through. Qin Mei then followed the same route she had used earlier avoiding all the cameras. It was not until she had reached Lin Xiaoxiao's hospital room did she breathe a sigh of relief. Once in the room Little Bo got out of the wheelchair and grabbed the spare clothes she prepared. Qin Mei exited the room leaving Little Bo behind and going back to work. Little Bo then waited for thirty minutes before exiting the room and walking down the hallway in a different direction. She made her way to a washroom making sure she was seen by cameras. She then changed her clothes and fixed her hair before she exited the washroom and walked right out the front door.

Little Bo continued to walk until she was out of the hospital grounds and onto the street where she knew there were no cameras that could see her. Qin Mei had marked a location on a nearby tree line that had a path Little Bo could take to get back to where Qin Mei's car was parked.

Hearing the car door open Lin Xiaoxiao body stiffened she did her best to lay perfectly still hoping that the person who opened the door was Little Bo. "Miss Xi it's me!" Hearing the familiar voice Lin Xiaoxiao finally relaxed her body and slightly peeked out from under the blanket that was on top of her.

"Little Bo you scared me! How did it go? Any issues?" Lin Xiaoxiao knew that they had to pass that guard again and was hoping that the guard did not notice any differences between her and Little Bo. Little Bo Looked more hear age compared to Lin Xiaoxiao who looked a little younger than her actual age due to malnutrition. But if those differences were noticed then the whole plan would fail.

"Everything went smoothly. The guard did not even stop Miss Qin when we entered the hospital and I was able to roam around freely. I acted very suspiciously when I roamed around in front of the cameras. Like peeking around corners and such. So hopefully they will think that I am you and had escaped on my own. The guard will be Miss Qin's alibi and by her staying to work for the rest of the day there is no way they will find anything suspicious about her. Also, Miss Qin said that she will be reporting you missing tomorrow if it is not noticed today and to be on the safe side you will be staying at my house until things blow over. Miss Qin said she would provide the food expenses and also would be there every day to pick you up and bring you to a friend's place to help you recover the mobility in your legs." Little Bo was really excited she felt like she was in one of those spy movies. This was one of the most exciting things she had ever done in her life.

"That is good to hear I am glad everything went so smoothly. Miss Qin is a genius, she came up with such an intricate plan right on the spot when I asked her for help. I owe both Miss Qin and you a life debt now. In the future when I can, I will repay this kindness tenfold." Lin Xiaoxiao was not saying this in the heat of the moment, she really felt this way. Even in her past life when someone helped her, she would always repay ten times over.

"It was really no problem at all, think nothing of it." Little Bo smiled and continued to talk about all kinds of things.

The two talked about this and that all the way up to when Qin Mei finished work. Qin Mei looked like a nervous wreck when she came out. You could tell she was worried about what was happening in the car. But when she saw Little Bo smiling away she breathed a huge sigh of relief.

After opening the door and hopping in Qin Mei asked: "Miss Xi how are you feeling?"

"Besides not being able to move my legs too much I feel perfectly fine. Just a little thirsty and hungry I guess as well. Also just call me Xiaoxiao. No need to be so formal." Lin Xiaoxiao's Stomach had been making noises all day and Little Bo and been picking on her for it. But it enabled the two of them to become very close.

Qin Mei started the car as she said: "Then Xiaoxiao, I'm sure Little Bo has already told you that you will be staying at their place for a while until things blow over. Your rehabilitation will take six months before you will be able to move around freely. I have a friend who is a physiotherapist that is willing to help with your rehabilitation. I will come to pick you up every day and drive you to her private office which has all the things needed for rehabilitation. We have been friends since kindergarten, so she is very trustworthy. With her help, you should have no issues fully recovering your mobility."

Lin Xiaoxiao was amazed at how much effort Qin Mei was putting into helping her. She was really going above and beyond. When Lin Xiaoxiao asked why she was going so far for her. Qin Mei only answered: "If you are going to help someone do not do it half ass'd. Follow through all the way until the end." Lin Xiaoxiao was really impressed by Qin Mei she figured once she entered the entertainment circle again she will have to bring Qin Mei to her side. With her smarts, she would make an excellent manager.

When they had finally exited the parking lot all three of them breathed a sigh of relief. It was a nerve-racking day, to say the least. Once when they were far enough from the hospital did Qin Mei stop off at a restaurant to order some rice porridge for Lin Xiaoxiao's noisy stomach. Lin Xiaoxiao could not eat too many solid foods for a while. She had to slowly ease back into solid foods until her stomach was back to normal. After spending two years only being kept alive on IV's, the body that Lin Xiaoxiao inhabited stomach was completely empty. So the only things she can eat were nonheavy foods.

Although she was very hungry and the smell of the food Qin Mei bought made her drool, Lin Xiaoxiao held her hunger and waited for them to arrive at Little Bo's house. The drive took twenty minutes to get to Little Bo's house. Little Bo and her mother lived on the outskirts of the D City. The neighborhood she lived in was not that bad. It could be considered a middle-class neighborhood. It was just that Little Bo's house somewhat stood out. The House itself was of western design and looked in good shape. It was only one story tall but big enough for a small family. It was really nice, except for the overgrown lawn and the visible hole in the roof. But there was not much Little Bo herself could do about that. Her father had left her and her mother when she was young and her mother was always working to try to make ends meet. They had survived many years with just the two of them. They might not have had that much money but at least the two of them had each other which helped them strive on.

When they pulled the car to the front of the house there was already a lady standing there with a wheelchair waiting for them. Qin Mei and Little Bo helped Lin Xiaoxiao out of the car and into the wheelchair. Little Bo looked at Lin Xiaoxiao and said: "This is my mother Bo Ling and this is your new home!"
