When Ji Cheng entered the chamber, it was already midnight. He saw Zhao Ming sleeping while sitting on the bed. Her head was against the bedrest and her neck was tilted to the side.
He sighed as he felt bad for her that she was sleeping in an uncomfortable position. She seems like she fell asleep while reading the harem report in her hands.
He walked to her and carefully picked up the report which fell on the bed from her lap and placed it on the side table.
He removed the hair strands off her face and prepared to pick her up and make her lay on the bed comfortably.
He placed his hand on her back and under her knees, he picked her up in his arms, preparing to lay her on the bed properly.
However, just as he was about to place her on the bed, he heard her mumbling something in her sleep.
He frowned as she was speaking incoherently.
He leaned in to hear what she was saying.
