"Hello, Preston. It's me, Jared."
Preston heard the familiar lofty tone from the other side and his eyes shook in shock. His Deputy had been bang on with her assessment of Jared. The man had relented even before the two days were up. What was happening?
Preston's eyes immediately went to Valerie and he nodded her slightly, indicating to everyone who was calling him and noticed her lips curve up. She gestured to him to continue the call and they'd speak after he was done.
Preston didn't react as he watched his friends leave him alone, allowing him to execute his plan.
"Are you so stunned by my call that you forgot how to speak?" Jared teased and Preston scowled in disgust.
"Jared, where have you been? What the hell did you do?" Preston's whisper yelled at him as he tried to remain composed.
"Why are you so agitated? It's not like this is the first time I have done something so amazing." Jared boasted and Preston rolled his eyes in anger.
