After Ian watched Valerie being wheeled from the operation theater to the VIP ward, he visited the cancer ward. It had become a habit of his to visit Norman Litner every day. He was closely monitoring his treatment as soon as his chemotherapy sessions started.
Once in two or three days, Violet would come to visit her grandpa. He would then give her company until John came to look for her at the end of the day. He knew that the little girl was actually heartbroken. Norman's assistant had told him that she would cry every day at home. Ian could do nothing but pity her. She had lost her parents at such a young age and now her grandfather was suffering from cancer. Anybody would be truly devastated when faced with such a situation, she was just a little girl. How could she face all of these?
