Inside the ultrasound room of Lahaisen Hospital's Beijing branch, Jian Yumin was accompanying Luo Xiuen. He nervously looked at the screen.
Even though Jian Yumin could see the screen, he could not read nor interpret its contents.
And thus, he asked Jian Yiling who was examining Luo Xiuen: "Yiling, is your sister-in-law carrying a boy or a girl?"
Jian Yiling did not answer his question immediately. Instead, she used the instrument in her hand to repeatedly scan Luo Xiuen's belly before she replied: "A boy."
"Boy?" Jian Yumin exclaimed in dismay. "Are you… Sure?"
