It was not that Han Seoyeon was an easily scared woman. If compared to others instead, she was stronger than the most in term of mentality and physically. It was due to how she had always been in the situation that wasn't favorable to her that she was scared and although Jung Hwa knew this inside but can't help to tease her.
"I was only scared of those two things other than that I have none." She said with a brimming pride. Being strong is her forte and when she was told of how easily she got scared for, she couldn't sit well with his words.
She saw his smirk widened to say, "Have you ever heard of how a person who lie would promise not to?" She wondered what he was getting at and heard him continuing at her confusion. "They said it is a human's habit to say the first few thing to defend themself as a lie."
"I'm not lying." She pressed her tone feeling accused.
"I'm not saying you are one, Seoyeon but the fact you are fragile here doesn't change. Let say if you did meet the African spider, what would happen then? Would you fall froze in your spot frightened as you are unable to do anything for the spider to feast on you?"
The way he put it made her imagine a large spider with six hairy legs crawling to open its wide mouth to eat her down to feel chill running down her back and her body froze. In that situation she think his word did make sense, it was something that perhaps she would do but then she rethought perhaps also wasn't. When her life is on the line she knows well she would protect herself well.
Life in world was never good and kind especially toward her where she had always thought it was God's mischief to have her play on one troubles to another. Because she knows well the danger around her, she also know well she could protect her own life.
She gaze back at him with her eyes blazing in brevity, "I think I could protect myself even in that situation, Mr. Jung. You don't know what may come one your life especially when one day you wake up to find a person near you is a vampire. But I have protected myself well since before and in the future too." She paused and saw Jung Hwa gave a very bright smile to frown at his tests and continued. "Even if I can't save myself, surely there is no one who would want to protect me or else you will protect my life, Mr. Jung?" She gave him a glance around the corner of her words.
"Sure." He said quickly.
Han Seoyeon tilted her head, "Sorry, what did you say?" She asked confirming his words.
"I said of course, you want me to save your life and unlike you I do have a stronger quality to protect lives, your life and mine. This strong and handsome me, aren't I'm a quite Prince Charming saving the damsel in distress?" She looked at him with a fleet of pity. Not only was this vampire's narcissism incurable, it also seem that he had passed the last stage of narcissism illness.
"So next time if something did happen, Ms. Seoyeon the little cat call my name and I promise to come to save you." With a little warning he pressed his tone to her.
"I will keep it in mind." She replied not that she expected to meet great accident sooner or later if she did meet an African spider, he would be the best vampire to call for help.
Seeing how obedient Han Seoyeon agreed to his words, Jung Hwa praised in mirth, "Good girl."
Seeing how his smiles elated, Han Seoyeon said, "You look very happy today, Mr. Jung. Did something good happen to you?"
He smirked and his face had a little eerieness when he asked her back, "Do you want to hear?"
"I'm not that curious." She replied to turn her gaze away from him. She almost forgot how he was not a human but a vampire and how dangerous he was as a night being.
"Let's go now then, we can't be late." He said and she replied with a nod to follow him toward his car.
The party didn't start in the early morning but as one of the important guests who were also responsible for the party, Han Seoyeon and Jung Hwa arrived an hour earlier before the party start. While Jung Hwa went to greet the other businessmen he knew, Han Seoyeon stood beside him to smile like a decoration unless and until she was brought up to the conversation which rarely happen.
When she stood right beside the pillar a few steps behind Jung Hwa, she heard someone calling behind to gain her attention. Glancing away to the source of the voice, she found a woman smiling sweetly in a beautiful red dress which was the same color as hers. The woman had a wavy long brown hair which fell from her right shoulder to stop and reach at her hips and a confident smile to accompany her beautiful face.
"What may I help you with, miss?" Han Seoyeon used her polite tone after judging how the woman held her elegant gaze, she seemed to be a very important guest to the party held tonight,
"Nice to meet you, are you Secretary Han?"
"Yes I am." Han Seoyeon confirmed the woman's question.
"My name is Gwon Sheiin." She named her self whilst her eyes moving subtly to seize Han Seoyeon's figure which Han Seoyeon had notice the entire time. As she was very perceptive with the gazes people had on her this woman in particular shows he no good sign of having a good personality. "Do you perhaps knows who I am already?"
Han Seoyeon rose her brows slightly at her words. Was she someone she had to know? "Unfortunately, Miss Gwon I do not know who you are." Her words were brief and succinct.
Gwon Sheiin knitted a frown. She was the only daughter of Gwon family, the child of a vampire couple and had a quite amount of fame in media yet the little human secretary showed no knowledge as to who she was. Was she lying? Yet her face showed no such a lying expression.
She brushed her eyes aside, waving her hand to say, "Then there isn't a need for you to know, you just have to remember that I am from a very wealthy family. You are Mr. Jung's Secretary aren't you?" She asked for a confirmation and Han Seoyeon easily gave her words. "Yes I am, may I know what you have to do with me, Miss Gwon?"
