Leah was currently thunderstruck.
With her mind floating in outer space, she silently treads the path to nowhere in particular. Lunch time already came, but she appeared like she'd been deprived of a week worth of meals with how she was trudging like a corpse. Benumbed by Eli's revelation earlier, she couldn't bring herself to go back to the classroom nor meet with her fiance.
"Maybe she's mad at me for not helping her back in the hallway earlier. I also invited her to a party where she only ended up wearing herself out... I'm the worst..." Leah murmured in dismay, feeling disheartened. That's until a memory flashed through her mind all of the sudden, making her halt on her tracks.
"Perhaps, this is also what Eli felt back then..."
At that moment, she recalled a certain incident when they're still on seventh grade.
