Now that Eli thought about it, she recalled that Ms. Ivy mentioned the prom a couple of weeks ago - during their first meeting at the faculty room, that is.
Yet because of the eventful train of happenings that followed right after, she completely forgot all about it. But then again, despite the fact that the prom night is one of the most anticipated events in the academy, she has nothing to do with it.
"You're... not coming?" Leah repeated, dismay laced in her voice.
"Yeah... I don't really have any plans to," Eli voiced out once more, deciding to close her book for a moment.
"Why is that, Mom? Is something the matter? I thought for sure that you'll come," Noah chimed in with a deflated tone.
"Well, ummm..."
Eli takes a brief deep breath for a second, scanning everyone's confused expressions. They all appeared like they'd been expecting to hear the opposite answer.
