Xianggu rested at the mouth of Liujue River and occupied a patch of land long contested by mankind and demons alike. Though it technically rested on the front lines of war, the level of atrocity and chaos experienced in Xianggu could be said to be exponentially less.
It didn't make it a great place to live. But it was a place that was used to intermingling and used to the tension that brewed throughout the ages and eras. Skirmishes were frequent but expected. And trade would continue nonetheless. It was a city that shouldn't have been but was.
Its minor little quirks were not what made Xianggu a place of interest for Zhang Wang, however. Instead, he was interested in something else.
Xianggu was located south of Mount Wuhong, a towering Goliath of a structure and spewed clouds of smoke from its tip. It was an active volcano that painted the sky above it red during the darkness of night.
