When Xuxu woke, there was a telling dread in his heart. He laid in his bed and didn't move. For some reason, he knew. He just knew he'd been abandoned.
Though there was a vast ache and disappointment that flitted through his heart, Xuxu was also too exhausted to deal with those emotions.
He felt as though he was pinned to bed, a coldness came and chilling not only his body but also his heart. Small fingers reached up and touched a strange weight that sat around his neck.
"…?" Xuxu plucked the smooth gem from his neck. It was warm to the touch and he recognized it right away as the necklace that hung around Shizun's neck.
His voice slipped past his lips before he even knew what he was thinking about, "The Vigilant Earth Star…?"
