Yu Yanlin drew in a breath of cold air. The dark clouds were unrelenting, refusing to let even a sparkle to shine through the sky.
He stopped along the road back, the silent lake behind him. Ahead of the road would be the village, stilled from nightfall, with the vaguest glimmer of stray lights and distant sounds barely heard. The somber scenery did nothing to quell the new well of emotions that bubbled into existence.
Yu Yanlin was dreading. What he was dreading though, he did not know.
Luckily it was dark and Yu Yanlin couldn't see in the first place even if there would be light out.
