Chapter 35 - Chapter 34

The three boys awkwardly rubbed the backs of their necks.

"Sorry, man. I think we got the wrong place," one of the boys said apologetically.

Mad Dog narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Yeah, scram."

The boy looked past Mad Dog to Navier, whose limp body was still tied to the chair.

"Is he okay?" he asked.

Jackal shot the intruders a dirty look. "Mind your own business."

"Okay, okay," the boy said, putting his hands in the air. "Don't get your panties in a twist." He backed away from the door and shut it as he left.

During that short interaction, Joan, Isaac, and the Grimm Bros slipped through an open window while everyone was focused on the strangers who just entered the building.

Joan motioned for them to move. Stealthily, the group slinked behind the five distracted boys. Luckily, the two boys she had knocked out previously were still unconscious on the ground.

Joan's shoes tapped soundlessly on the concrete ground as she made steady steps toward Mad Dog. But although being silent was second nature to Joan, it was not to Viktor, Turner, Pablo, and Isaac.

Turner's awkward feet occasionally scuffed the ground, and every time they did, he flinched and froze, waiting for someone to turn around and see him.

However, his anxiety and incoordination made him trip over his own feet, and he landed face down on the floor with an "Oomph!"

Jackal's head whipped around, and he growled when he saw Joan. "We've got company!" he shouted.

At his call, Mad Dog, Black Dog, and the other three boys turned around to see what the commotion was about. But before Mad Dog could get a proper glimpse, Joan leaped forward, tackling him.

They fell to the ground in a flurry of limbs and shrieks. Joan locked his legs in with her knees and held both of his hands above his head with her left hand.

"What the hell?!" Mad Dog yelled as Joan felt around for the gun with her right hand.

A furious blush reddened his face as Joan's hand skimmed over his body. He struggled against her grip that held him down, but it was to avail. His failed attempt humiliated him further, and he turned even redder than what was humanly possible.

Eventually, Joan's hand halted at the side of Mad Dog's waistband, where he had stored the electron gun.

Black Dog rushed over to push Joan off of Mad Dog, but Viktor rushed in front of him with a smirk before he could.

"Not today, buddy," Viktor smirked.

Black Dog gnawed at his lip as he raised his arms defensively.

The two rushed toward each other. Compared to Joan, their fighting was messy, uncoordinated, and based on who could beat the other with raw power.

Their fists slammed into each others' cheeks simultaneously, and they both stumbled back, gripping their throbbing cheeks.

"Come on." Viktor gestured Black Dog to bring it on. "You can do better than that."

Black Dog knit his brows and rushed toward Viktor once more. He furiously threw punches at Viktor's head, but Viktor blocked them all with his forearms.

And as Black Dog stumbled back in exhaustion, Viktor noticed a gaping opening in his defense. Immediately, he threw himself forward and latched his forearms around Black Dog's neck.

"Hanging around Rem has taught me a thing or two!" he smirked as he slammed Black Dog's face into his knee.

An ear-splitting crack erupted from Black Dog, who groaned in pain. But even then, Viktor relentlessly smashed in Black Dog's face. Blood splattered on Viktor's bare knee like an abstract painting.

When Viktor let go, Black Dog stumbled back with his hand cupping his fractured nose. Blood oozed from his nostrils, but the blaze in Black Dog's eyes had yet to be doused.

Instead of dwelling over the searing pain erupting from his nose, Black Dog rushed forward.

"Still haven't learned your lesson, huh?" Viktor taunted as he covered his head in response to Black Dog's jab.

However, instead of uselessly attempting to break Viktor's defense, Black Dog used the opportunity to take advantage of the gaping hole in Viktor's defense.

When Viktor raised his arms to shield his head, he unknowingly left his torso and legs defenseless.

Black Dog stepped forward and squatted to wrap his arms around Viktor's body. One hand gripped Viktor's waist while the other grabbed his leg. Black Dog swept Viktor's leg off the ground and tackled him to the ground.

Viktor's head connected with the concrete ground in a painful bang, and he squinted in pain to clear his blurred vision.

"Shit!" Viktor cursed to himself. Black Dog had purposefully jabbed at his head to create an opening in his defense! Viktor hadn't thought that a blockhead like Black Dog would've been intelligent enough to do that.

With Viktor under his body, Black Dog took advantage of the position to throw countless punches. Viktor, thrown off-guard from the knockdown, was left defenseless. Black Dog's fist connected with his cheek, eyes, and nose.

Blood splurged from Viktor's nose, and he rapidly raised his arms in defense. But by then, the damage had been done. Viktor could feel the area around his eyes swelling painfully. If he didn't do anything soon, he'd lose the fight.

Weakly, Viktor forced out, "This may not be allowed in the MMA, but…" Viktor brought his knee, which was in between Black Dog's leg, up. "Good thing this isn't the MMA."

His knee connected with Black Dog's future children and a guttural groan slipped from his throat.

Viktor took advantage of Black Dog's distraction and pushed the massive body of him.

Black Dog rolled to the side, clutching his groin and wriggling in pain.

Panting, Viktor rolled on top of Black Dog and straddled his waist. He relentlessly pounded Black Dog's face, relishing how Black Dog's head snapped to the side with every hit.

Viktor only stopped when Black Dog's lips had swollen to the size of cherries. Exhausted, Viktor rolled off of Black Dog's limp body and laid beside him, devoid of energy.

As much as he wanted to stand and help his team out in the fight, his body was completely drained.

Groaning, Viktor placed the back of his hand over his eyes. The rest would be up to Rem and everyone else. He could only wish them the best of luck.
