Chapter 49 - Chapter 47

"Boom Arcade, huh?" Damien stood outside one of the few arcades near M High School. He'd already all the other surrounding arcades and had no success. Now, he was completely sure Amarya was here.

As usual, he had a black hoodie pulled over the curve of his head, and a black mask was obscuring the lower half of his face.

His forest green eyes dangerously gleamed from the shadow of his baseball cap.

"Don't think I'll let you go that easily, Amarya," Damien chuckled as he pulled his cap lower on his head. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and strode inside the neon-lit building.

Upon entering, his eyes were immediately drawn to the bright blonde hair in the building's corner.

Amarya stood right outside a module, happily chatting away with five other people.

Damien gritted his teeth when he noticed four out of five of the boys were guys. Why was she hanging around guys? They'd just gotten out of their relationship, and she was already flirting with other boys.

"Slut," Damien angrily cursed. He inhaled a sharp breath to suppress the fire, ravaging his chest. The unbelievable desire to hide Amarya away wracked his body, and it took everything in his power to suppress the urge. Amarya would hate him if he did that.

Furious, he began taking long strides to where Amarya stood.

But before he could go anywhere, the receptionist quickly stopped him.

"Hey, man." The young receptionist held his arm out to prevent Damien from making it any further. "Gotta pay first."

"I'll be in and out. I promise. I'm not here for games," Damien angrily pleaded.

The receptionist slowly shook his head. "No can do. Gotta pay before you get in."

Damien angrily growled and tilted his head to the side, revealing the tanned skin of his neck. Just above his shoulder's soft flesh was a small bird—an eagle, to be exact.

The receptionist's eyes were immediately drawn to the black marking decorating Damien's skin. He stood in silence before realization struck him. His eyes widened to the size of saucers, and he immediately took multiple steps back, holding his hands up defensively.

"Sorry, man," the receptionist meekly apologized. "Had no idea. Go right in."

Damien nodded in approval and angrily brushed passed the receptionist, who fearfully watched him retreat into the arcade.

"Manager won't get mad at me… right? She'd understand," the receptionist anxiously mutter to himself.

Although the Eagles were made up of mere high school students, they were still well-known among the area. They were infamous for selling drugs and illegal firearms, and no one in their right mind would want anything to do with them.

Amarya didn't notice Damien's presence until he halted right behind her. His tall figure cast a long shadow over her, and the familiar presence made her grit her teeth in annoyance.

It was just like him to do this. Amarya gnawed at her lip, worried that Damien would ruin her persona in front of her new 'friends'.

Shyly, she turned around and cast a surprised expression on her face. "Oh, hello! May I help you with something," she innocently chirped.

Damien humorlessly laughed at her lie. "Don't act dumb." His deep baritone voice sent shivers down the spines of Turner, Pablo, Viktor, and Navier.

Joan raised her eye. She recognized him as the boy she'd chased away from M High School just a few hours earlier. It seemed that Damien had yet to notice her identity, so she silently took a few steps back, hoping to observe the ensuing events without being seen.

"I'm not quite sure what you mean," Amarya fibbed. She placed her hand beneath her chin as she stared thoughtfully into space.

"Amarya Owenby!" Damien roared. His authoritative voice attracted gazes from all over the arcade. Following the gazes were excited whispers, gossiping about what could possibly be happening.

He grasped her shoulders with trembling hands. "What's going on? We were doing fine. Why would you-you break up with me?!"

Although a mask covered half of his face, his eyes' crazed glint was unmistakable. Turner nervously backed away from Damien, unsure of what to do. Should he be taking Amarya's side? But there was no denying the irresistible curiosity that urged him to stay silent.

A horrified expression crossed Amarya's face as she nervously attempted to wiggle out of Damien's vice-like grip. "Fuck," she cursed under her breath. It was unlike her usual innocent, school-girl personality, and Viktor seemed shocked at the profanity that left her mouth. "Let go!" she shrieked.

"Not until you tell me what's going on!" Damien roared back. It was a match of who could scream the loudest, and the commotion caused the rest of the arcade to drop dead silent.

"Who are you? Let go of me!" Amarya screamed. She continued to keep up her oblivious act, which further fueled Damien's fire.

Damien's vision turned red. He angrily ripped off his black face mask, revealing a square jaw, light stubble, and overall, attractive face. He was a girl's worst and best nightmare.

His remarkably handsome face evoked gasps from the few girls in the arcade as the gossiped about the mysterious Greek god.

Viktor stared at the boy and couldn't help but admit that Amarya and the mysterious boy truly suited each other. Both were the epitome of modern beauty standards, and they would, without a doubt, have stunning children.

"Do you know who I am now?" Damien asked.

"No!" Amarya persistently shrieked.

Consumed by anger, Damien grabbed a fistful of Amarya's blonde hair and leaned down.

Amarya's eyed widened, and she desperately slammed her fists against his chest. Just what was this asshole doing?! She knew she was fully capable of pounding the bastard into the ground, but it didn't match the persona she had previously established.

She could only silently accept the harsh kiss that Damien pressed onto her plush lips, ignoring the burning desire to claw his eyes out and bury the psychotic bastard six feet under.
