Chapter 61 - Chapter 59

"Ciao!" Viktor saluted Damien as he dropped out of the window where he'd entered from. His feet slammed against the hard ground, causing a harsh rippled of pain to shoot up his pain. He stumbled a bit before Amarya caught his arm.

He looked up, and his warm, brown eyes met a striking blue.

"Be careful," Amarya muttered abashedly. She averted her eyes in embarrassment.

The corner of Viktor's eyes curled up into a smirk. She was cute.

Joan watched their subtle actions with a disdainful look. "Teenage couples," she shook her head.

"Good job, guys!" Navier lopsidedly grinned as he animatedly ushered everyone to move forward. One of his glasses' lenses had shattered when he'd leaped through the window, but the impairment to his vision didn't seem to bother him. He was as energetic as ever.

"The police are going to be here at any moment now. Let's go!"

Inside the apartment, Damien and his partner lay on the ground. Damien's gang mate lay unconscious on the floor while he sat helplessly on the ground. The knife that Rem had thrown had pierced through the thick, excess material of his jeans, skewering him to the ground. No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't seem to free himself.

To make matters worse, his hands and ankles were now bound with extra-strength tape. Leaning down, he angrily gnawed at the tape, circumscribing his wrists. Using his canines, he attempted to drill a hole through the thick tape, but it was to no avail.

But the concentric tape, which had been wrapped multiple times around his wrists, stood its ground. He released the tape from his jaws exasperatedly.

A string of curses flew out of his mouth as he yanked his leg away from the knife in an attempt to rip his jeans. He awkwardly shimmied, moving his leg back and forth to saw off the material.

In his struggle, beads of sweat began to drip off his forehead.

"Fuck!" Damien angrily cursed to himself. Anger coursed through him. That fucking bitch! He'd kill her when he got the chance.

He'd visited her room, expecting to be able to show off his new trophy, but he never expected Rem's friends two come crashing through the window.

Just as Damien was about to saw through the last few strands of his pants, a fierce pounding resonated from the door.

Damien froze before hastily accelerating his leg. Back and forth. Back and forth. The lactic acid burned his leg, and the repetitive motion seemed to be ripping holes through his muscles.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Shit!" Damien whispered to himself. Was that the police?

Just as he freed himself, the door slammed open. Damien awkwardly scrambled to his feet. His eyes flickered between the three men intruding in on his home and the open window.

He could still make it!

He began to run toward the open window, ignoring the sound of footsteps slamming against the floor behind him.

"Stop!" one of the men behind Damien shouted.

"Make me," Damien chortled.

But he'd made a fatal miscalculation.

The adrenaline rush flooding his system had made him completely forget about the tape binding his ankles. Damien stumbled and fell to the ground.

Immediately, three police officers scrambled on top of Damien, holding his elbows and knees to the ground. They handcuffed Damien's wrists, ignoring his roars and plethora of curses erupting from his mouth.

Isaac stared wide-eyed at the posts flooding the school forum. Damien Frasier and the entirety of the Eagles had been arrested. Not many knew Damien was the Eagles leader, but after his arrest, the information quickly spread amongst the forums.

Along with it were whispers about the mysterious Black Lion. The identity of the Black Lion had yet to be confirmed but many speculations circled throughout the comments.

Isaac shuffled through the comments. So far, people seemed to be suspecting Avril, a well-known Dragons member. Her rouge, ethereal beauty was well-known, and if she wanted to, she could easily latch onto a modeling contract.

But Isaac knew Avril wasn't the Black Lion. Rem was. Isaac shook her head.

"I didn't think she'd been able to do it…" he muttered to himself. Even now, he was still baffled. Just how had Rem pulled that stunt off? If there was a god out there, he must indeed be on her side.

"Do what?" a familiar voice chimed beside Isaac. Isaac jumped, slightly startled. He snapped his head to the side and was met with a familiar, arrogant face: Thales King.
