"How long has it been?"
"Darling, it's not even ten minutes in," Maggie sighed, getting visibly annoyed as the same question comes and goes. It hasn't been ten minutes—as Maggie had said—and yet, it feels like ten hours have gone by. Luke is still unconscious, paler than ever.
When we reached the manor, we spent no time idling around and immediately worked our way to save him, but there was no response, not even a flinch. Lisa said that he had been unconscious since the day we left, which means he'd been unconscious for two whole days, eating nothing but poison. I initially thought that we were only away for a day, but it turns out that time moves much more slowly in the magic world.
If the cure didn't work, this would be his last day—the day he finally succumbed to the man-eating poison and broke the promise he made to me.
