It's been three weeks since Eric Crown brought Baby Sunshine home with him, his world, and that of his household has changed. Eric's house is more active and noisy and has more movement upstairs now.
Yes, his mother, the house staff. everyone seems happier, laughing more.
Eric didn't know a one month old baby can bring so much change to his home, his mother Madam Crown has taken over caring for Sunshine and don't even let her catch you wanting to carry baby Sunshine without washing your hands.
Madam Crown has still not asked her son about Sunshine's mother, and Eric wondered why. It's very unlike her. By now, she would have demanded an explanation unless she knows already. But how?
Eric hoped she was not thinking he got some girl pregnant? Nah, she knows him better than that, Eric is a very traditional man when it comes to these things; he would rather have a complete family: a wife and kids.
Eric's mothe has told him before that if he didn't want to get married, he should have a child but Eric told her he wasn't ready for that kind of arrangement, he rather have a mother and child package.
Of course, Madam Crown wasn't happy with her son's answer, and she was even more unhappy when all her matchmaking schemes didn't work.
This morning, Eric was having breakfast with his mother. He has a lot to do today and wouldn't be around for two days, so he ensured that some issues were sorted out before he travelled.
Madam Crown was eating and also reading one of her favourite fashion magazines. About the baby, when you named her Sunshine, I wondered at the name, but she lives up to her name, she commented, smiling.
She has brought so much joy to this house since she joined us. Just look at the house staff they are so excited, Madam Crown added.
Mother, I'm glad you're happy Eric said relieved. When I made the decision to bring the baby home, I wasn't sure of your reaction. Eric said, looking at her.
Well, considering the circumstances, her safety is a priority. If Sunshine continues to stay in the hospital, she will not be safe and will put other babies in danger. It's either here or welfare services, Madam Crown concluded. Since you can not find a relative of her mother's yet, it was the right call. By the way, how is her mother?
Her condition is still unchanged, and the doctors are unclear on why, Eric replied sadly
Sad, thank Goodness they were able to save the baby considering all her injuries.
Considering all her injuries? How did she know about that? Eric looked at his mother questioningly.

Eric just stared at her. When is this woman going to stay out of his business, he asked himself.
Doctor Robert filled me in, Madam Crown said, looking embarrassed. Look, I'm your mother! There is nothing wrong with looking out for your interest she said when she noticed Eric wasn't looking happy.
Eric wasn't surprised anyway. he and his late father call her the spy police. His mother knows everything and wants to find out about everything.
She sometimes makes you think she doesn't, but there is no news that passes she doesn't know about.

We were suddenly interrupted by the sound of Sunshine crying from the baby monitor placed on the side table, we could also hear her nanny Miss.Tomho trying to pacify her.
Eric tried to continue with his food so he could leave for the office, but he couldn't concentrate. As Sunshine's crying got louder and louder, Eric couldn't ignore it any longer, so he got up and headed for the nursery upstairs.
Oh yes, we have one now. My mother has quickly turned one of the space rooms upstairs into a nursery equipped with everything a baby needs.
Eric took Sunshine from the nanny, and she immediately kept quiet. Her eyes were wide open, staring at him. Hey Sunshine, how are you doing? Eric asked her.
Eric continued to softly talk to her. She just laid in his arms, staring at him.
She is so focused on Eric's face, and it was as if she didn't want to brink in case he disappeared.
I have said it, this child knows you. she hardly gives you a hard time, Madam Crown said from behind her son as she entered the nursery.
Eric just walked around the room with her for some time and then gave her a kiss on her small cheeks. Bye for now, Sunshine. I will miss you. I really will miss her, Eric thought, holding her a little tighter.
Eric handed Sunshine back to her nanny, reluctantly realising he had to go because he was already running late.
I will be travelling, wouldn't be around for two days. I hope you wouldn't mind watching over her. Eric said talking to his mother.
Eric knows she is busy with all her charity meetings and programs. She is on the board of some of the major charities organizations in the country.
You try and stop me she said, smiling, but it's okay. Don't worry, we will all take good care of her and send you pictures.
Thanks Mother, at least you now have someone to fuss over Eric added jokily. We hugged each other, Eric took one last look at Sunshine and started to move towards the door.
As he was leaving, Eric heard his mother instructing the nanny to make sure she had everything arranged nearby for Sunshine's bath, that she would bathe her.
The first time Eric watched the housekeeper giving Sunshine her bath, Eric noticed the arrangement of all the necessary accessories nearby, towel, washcloth, bath toys, lotion, shampoo, clean clothes and clean nappy. It's not an easy task at all. It's a major responsibility.
Eric noticed while bathing and changing, you must always keep one hand on the baby. He smiled, things have really changed in his home, he thought.
Just that Sunshine's mother's condition has not changed and the baby is growing every day. We are not close to getting any information about mother and daughter, their identify and other information is still a mystery.
There is no information on the missing person database, so she is not missing.
A serious dilemma... a big mystery!
