Dan dialed Nicole's number, but when it didn't connect, he called her mother's line instead. After a couple of rings, the call connected, "Hey, Dan! We were just asking after you... Where are you?" Vanessa Stone asked, making Dan frown.
"I'm at home..."
"Your house? We are here with your mother. We came in as soon as we heard the news. I'm so sorry..."
"We? Are you with Nicole? I was calling to find out if you've found her," Dan lied.
"Yes. We are both together."
"Okay. I'll be right there," Dan said and quickly disconnected the call before looking at Bella, "Nicole is here. Just wait here. I'll be back," He told her before walking away in quick strides.
Bella wasn't sure what she was supposed to do while waiting for Dan, so instead, she focused her attention on thinking of different ways someone else could have possibly gotten to know about the ring if Nicole turned out innocent.
