The moment Joan parked her car in front of Bella's house, Ben was out of the door in a hurry to see who his 'new girlfriend' was. He had hurried home from the restaurant to clean the house thoroughly so that the house could be conducive enough for their guest.
"You've never been in such a hurry to welcome me before," Joan said dryly as she got out of the car to meet Ben, who was standing by her door waiting for them to get down.
"What a jerk!" She exclaimed with a scowl when Ben pushed her out of the way so he could get a better view of the familiar stranger who had just stepped out of the car.
Ben's heart skipped a beat when his gaze met hers, and he felt some sort of connection with her as he looked into her eyes. He felt like he knew her already, even though he was just meeting her for the first time.
