There were only a few hours left before the double rendezvous. The emperor who had received Ying Yue's cancellation letter was staring at it thoroughly with an unpleasant expression. The empress dowager happened to be passing by and saw him in a daze.
" Jun, what's wrong? Why are you wearing that troubled expression?" She inquired inquisitively.
The emperor came back to his senses and as she didn't yet spot the letter on the table, he hid it beneath his documents.
" It's nothing, mom! I was just thinking about something." He blurted out.
" What kinds of things?"
The emperor told his mother he'd been thinking about the country and how to make it a better place for all. The empress dowager was pleased that her son was back in governing the country as before.
" There's something I'd like your opinion about." The empress dowager uttered suddenly.
" What is it, mom? Is everything okay?"
