Chapter 2 - The Fateful meet

CITY Y AIRPORT

Jake strolled out of the airport with his suitcase in one hand and the other buried in his pocket. He had his dark sunglasses on, and he looked handsome enough to make heads turn and the ladies ogle at him.

He was jet-lagged after a 21-hour long flight. He felt exhausted after working on the new software design for the company all through his flight. This was supposed to be his first project as the newly appointed CEO of Acrosoft —a software company. He had been the president of the Company overseas for the last five years since his father died, but he had recently been appointed CEO since his grandfather retired a week ago.

He had brought the company to new heights even as the president. But as the new CEO, he had to solidify his capabilities in the hearts of the board of directors and shareholders. He refused to be viewed as a usurper with no capabilities, even though his abilities had already convinced them during his time as the president.

"Mr. Jake," The chauffeur greeted with a slight bow before putting his suitcase in the trunk.

"It's nice to have you back, sir." The chauffeur said with a small smile as he held the door for Jake.

"I can't say it's nice to be back." He replied indifferently before stepping into the car.

He turned on his phone, which he had turned off due to flight protocols. He smirked when he received a message from his little brother, Blake.

'We're waiting for you. You know where that is.'

Of course, he knew, but what he needed at the moment was rest, at least before calling the office. He needed this project in motion as soon as possible. He had roughly sketched out his ideas on his way back.

He'd love to take complete control of both the design and programming departments till this project was fully executed with no errors, and he would never condone delays.

"Sir, are we heading home?"

"No. Grand Hills." He replied.

Jake had only returned to the country, and his crazy brother was already on his case. How bothersome, he sighed.

******

Jake had only stepped into the underground club when he heard excited shrieks from all corners.

It seems the 'King of the club' has returned, a few people murmured.

Jake made his way to the VIP lounge just above the dance floor, where he spotted his brother and a few familiar faces he was sure he had never spoken to before.

"Bro, Welcome back!" Blake said with a toothy grin and a half hug.

"You should be home taking care of grandfather," Jake said, pulling away from his silly younger brother while Blake awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.

"I have to welcome my big bro first, you know. And grandfather doesn't mind." Blake chirped as he took his seat beside his brother.

Jake had only been seated for a few minutes when he saw a beautiful girl in a sexy red gown step into the club. Her shiny jet-black hair flowed freely, which made her look gorgeous. Her heart-shaped face was lightly made up, and her curves were just in the right proportion, just as he liked it.

His gaze followed her as she weaved through the crowd and approached the bar.

His lips curved slightly when she gulped down three glasses of whatever she ordered—one word for her, 'novice.'

He concluded she was new to this, or there was something she was trying to forget in the bottom of those shot glasses, whichever the case was.

He was surprised when he saw her staring in his direction, and her gaze met his. He was tempted to signal her over, but not tonight. All he needed now was a good night's sleep to feel refreshed to start working by morning.

He turned his gaze from her to listen to whatever his brother was babbling to him about, but he couldn't help but glance back at her. He frowned slightly when he no longer found her by the bar.

Since he had promised to lay down his old habits, he should keep himself in check.

Jake was taken aback when a small, slender, and dainty figure appeared before him. It was the girl he had just been staring at a while ago.

He raised his gaze to her, and his heart skipped a bit. She looked even more beautiful than he had thought. Her sea-blue eyes looked more nervous than her body was.

"Hey," She greeted with a nervous smile while he wondered why she had suddenly approached him.

He watched as she brought out a white envelope from her purse and stretched it to him, "I heard you have money to spend, and I'm just in need of that cash. I'll pay with my virginity. If you're displeased with me, I will let you go. I'll consider it my bad day. Here's a medical report. I'm disease-free. What do you say?" She said as she looked at him anxiously.

Jake instantly fell short of words, and he could only stare into her eyes like he was searching for something.
