Chapter 18 - First Comes the Bite

Moon Young Jae was not someone easy to read. He was well-known for keeping his emotions to himself in the last couple of years. Before he was kicked out of the house, Young Jae used to wear his feelings on sleeves which garners attention only to put him in trouble. Later, even though he was cautious to an extent, he failed. He was plotted against, and he was removed from the house. But Mr Wang read his emotion and thoughts like the back of his hands made Young Jae more vary towards him. How could a stranger understand him like they knew each other for ages?!

He kept his expressions as neutral as he can while Mr Wang was on a call with Rim Hyung enquiring about the security footage stage. Leaning against the armrest, Young Jae hide his paranoid thoughts towards his cousins self-proclaimed Dongsheng.

He heard the footsteps of Mr Wang approaching him.

"I will move you back to bed the same way as before." He said even though it was supposed to be a question.

Young Jae, with his new resolution to keep himself away from this mysterious guy, nod his head as consent. The stranger carried him like before... but he felt the touch was more gentle but firm...

"You don't need to be doubtful of me. I will not drop you or harm you." Mr Wang said right after taking two steps casually.

Young Jae was surprised at the words as kept his emotions neutral. Young Jae was careless before as his guards were down with the thought the intruder was his cousin. After that, he believed the intruder was not a foe as he was here for his cousin.

But he was not sure anymore. How could Mr want to know what he was feeling when his face was not giving away. Isn't it face that's a window to the soul? Or Mr Wang has a super-power.

Mr Wang was being cautious of not aggravating an injury. So he was focusing on the fragile guy in his arm. His heart ached for his Chin Hae Hyung's cousin. He knew the Moon family's cruelty. But whatever this guy did, even if it was a huge sin, can't they show little compassion to the pathetically thin lad who was their blood. Chin Hae's cousin looked like he was starved for most of his life. As a person who experiences starving personally, Mr Wang knew how brutal it was even though his life story was not much painful. He got over his experience it long back, but that didn't mean his heart could not ache for other's pain.

As most of the focus and thoughts were around the fragile little guy, Mr Wang didn't notice the intercom buzzer which got tangled near the cot. The nurse kept it down while giving the sponge bath. When Mr Wang was moving around to remove the bedsheet, he didn't notice his shoe's toe pushed it, and it was tangled with the cot front leg. When he turned to place Young Jae safely on the bed, the wire tripped him down.

To avoid the impact on the heavily injured man, Mr Wang flipped himself over as they were about to fall on the bed. If not the fall would have injured the arm on the sling little bit.

Young Jae who realised they lost the balance and were about to fall, panicked. Right arm still in a sling and left arm around Mr Wang's shoulder he didn't know how he could defend himself of the fall. In fear, he buried his face on the right crook of Mr Wang's neck and attempted grit the teeth expecting the pain. Everything was a reflex action rather than a planned action.

Mr Wang felt the panicked Young Jae burying his face on his neck. The sensation first tickled him, then followed by a sharp pain. Right at the moment, his back fell on the bed. Both were startled by the turn of events. Mr Wang was taking a deep breath. Young Jae continued to grit his teeth more, or so he thought.

Panicked Young Jae bit Mr Wang's shoulder in fear while thinking he was gritting his teeth.

Mr Wang finally released an agonizing hiss as the stinging pain started to increase.

Chin Hae opened the door to witness two men tangled themself in the bed. One being on the top, ministering his dominance irrespective of having too many bandages wrapped on him and the other moaning under him. He clearly saw his hoobae's one hand around the shoulder and other holding his cousin's thigh possessively.

Chin Hae froze for a minute not knowing what transpired in the room for the short while he left. All he could do was release a sigh.

"Sorry! You guys continue. I will come later." with that Chin Hae locked the door and left.

Young Jae raised his head up and then realised that, instead of gritting teeth, he ended up bitting Mr Wang's shoulder. When embarrassed Young Jae attempted to apologise to Mr Wang, he was stunned by Mr Wang's yelling.

"Overthinking-Babo! Get your useless ass here! im-ma!"

Young Jae froze on listening to the string of cuss words that left by his cousin's friend. Chin Hae stopped at the howl directed at him, right after taking a couple of steps.

Resigning to his fate, he entered the room. "From Hyung, I dropped down to little shit just because I walked in on you? Can't you let it slide as I am trying to give you space?" Chin Hae asked with exasperation.

The clueless Young Jae finally got enlightened about their position and proximity. He was even more embarrassed and turned to the shade of red. Young Jae sitting on Mr Wang's thigh, way to close to his…

Young Jae's breath hitched before he started to move in panic, only for his hip to be held tightly to stop him from moving around recklessly. Now Young Jae's entire body felt warm.

The one beneath him could clearly witness Young Jae's ear, and neck turning red. The dishevelled hospital robe revealed the chest taking the cue of cherry red on the pale skin, looking delicious. If it were someone, their mind would have run to the gutter and tempted to take advantage of the harmless-innocent-fragile guy. Or at the least tease the other to death. Fortunately or unfortunately for Moon Young Jae, it was Wang Min Jun - A lost man with an immense amount of self-control and rationality.
