Chapter 51 - Filial Piety

Chin Mae's mother remarried into a military family after her divorce. Old Man from the Moon family could not even reach the level of intimidation caused by any youngster in the Kang family. After all, the Kang family was from a long-lasting military lineage.

The old master Moon was disappointed in how Chin Mae and Chin Hae did not listen to his wish. He finally realised it wouldn't be easy to control his grandson Chin Hae to protect the family as he planned before. "You really think You will threaten me, the master of the Moon family. You don't even know what I am capable of. Let me see if you can stop me from taking my grandchildren away." He challenged the young blood with the assumption that they can't outwit his experience.

When young blood and old blood was close to having a one-o-one face-off, Young Jae's calm words softly caught everyone's attention.

"Unfortunately, none of you have any say in this. My dongsaeng and I have the final say in this. Isn't it right, Sunny?" Young Jae asked calmly.

Sunny trusted her cousin brother more than the brothers born of the same parents. She agreed to her cousin in a heartbeat.

Kang Chin Mae started to have a favourable opinion of his sister after he witnessed her loyalty.

The old master was shocked when he heard his obedient grandson defies his word for the first time and his favourite grandchild to follow her cousin's word more than his.

Kang Chin Mae used the diversion to execute his plan on the full-fledged force.

Ko Yon was surprised and proud of her son.

Moon Chin Hae looked at his cousin and sister like a proud mother hen. 'I knew that you both are not a lost cause of Young Jae. Hyung will make you strong. Till you become strong, I will protect you at all cost.'

Moon Chin Sun was baffled at the turn of events. She did not expect her grandfather, who was hell-bound, on sending her away with her brother to have a change of heart. But what shocked her the most was the truth revealed by her brother about her family members. She felt bad for her mother, who had to go through all the brutality in her family's hand. It pained her when she realised why her mother never visited her and felt guilty for thinking ill of her mother while growing up.

"What do you mean? Do you dare go against your grandfather's word? Is this how you show your filial piety to the grandfather who raised you? How did you turn into an ungrateful brat?" The old master lost the last bit of his common sense when he heard his grandson's word.

"If the filial piety asks for my life, I don't mind bowing down for you to take it. But if it targets my loved ones, I don't care if I had to become ungrateful. I will defy your words and will go beyond." Young Jae's voice was as calm as a flowing river, but it held the turbulence of the furious flood.

Kang Chin Mae glanced at Young Jae, wondering if it was the same meek boy who wanted to take his life or some other imposter. Young Jae reminded him of someone else with an unruly lifestyle he knew of. He turned his surprised gaze towards his cousin, only for him to smile in acknowledgement.

'Who knew spending more than 24 hours with Min Jun makes their innocent cousin adapt Min Jun's stormy-calmness.'

The old master was furious. Without even realising, he threw his walking stick at his grandson, who was defenceless and had his eyes wrapped in the bandage.

Ko Yon was all set to take the hit to protect her son.

Sunny froze at the turn of the event and held on to her second brother's hand firmly in fear.

Chin Hae did not even move away from his sister as if he knew that the walking stick would never reach his cousin and decided to comfort his terrified sister. Growing up, Sunny witnessed way too many violence that she was always scared of fights.

Kang Chin Mae caught the walking stick with practised ease. Even if it were a knife thrown towards his cousin by the old man, he would have caught it with ease. It was hard for him to obstruct a throw only if done by a handful of people, like BB and his siblings.

They were not humans but the embodiment of hungry beast out for blood to settle their loved ones' scores. As he grew up with someone who was planning revenge from their teenage, somehow Chin Mae ended up getting trained to protect himself and his loved ones.

Kang Chin Mae decided to make Young Jae go through similar training so that his fragile cousin can protect himself and his loved ones with confidence. He was determined to train his cousin by himself.
