Chapter 167 - Chapter 167: Devil Fire magic is quite potent.

"So, when do I get my sister back?" The Commander asked, looking at Stacy.

"Get her back? She is our prisoner. Why would we just give our prisoner back?" Stacy said, sitting next to me at the table.

"Because this will lead to a war that you started." The Commander said, making Stacy tilt her head at him—something I noticed she learned from Kitsuna.

"We started? Don't joke like that. You guys are the people that sent spies into our country multiple times. Then you want to start a monster stampede in our country? Hello, do you even know what you are saying?" Stacy said

"You have no proof we did any of that," Pendragon said, scoffing at Stacy.

"Are you sure we don't have any?" Stacy said, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Yes," Pendragon said, not falling for the bait.

"Really? Okay, then listen to this." Stacy said, putting her scroll on the table and starting to play the recording.

"Ah, yes, my pets, they were busy levelling up in the dead forest." A girl's voice said something, coming from the scroll.

"Now do we have proof?" Stacy said, stopping the recording.

"Hah, you know that sister of mine. What do you want?" Pendragon said, sighing in defeat before getting serious.

"Oh, it's not that much," Stacy said, giving him a piece of paper.

"Lady Stacy, you are asking for too much." The Commander said, sounding quite polite.

"Am I? Didn't know your sister's life would be of that little worth." Stacy said thoughtfully

"They're blackmailing us now," Pendragon said with a dry laugh.

"Yes, you started all this after all," Stacy said shamelessly.

"Tsk, I want my sister first."

"Mr. Pendragon, that's not how negotiations work. You do know this," Stacy said, not backing down.

"Tsk, fine. You take this and get everything on this list. You have 30 minutes."

"Yes, sir." His assistant said, taking the piece of paper before starting to call people.

"Woah, 30 minutes? Are you sure he will make it?" Stacy said it sarcastically but with a hint of doubt.

"Yes."

"Okay, if it's like that, we will go see your sister," Stacy said, standing up.

"Uh, Stacy, we still haven't gotten through the ice wall," I whispered to her, embarrassed, obviously faking it obviously.

"That's fine. It should go faster if you try to do it, but why would we do that?" Stacy whispered back, confusing me.

"What do you mean by that?" I muttered, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Don't do anything. Let him blast through it himself, Kayda." Stacy said, smiling at me evilly.

"Okay," I said, nodding.

[5 minutes later in the mansion.]

"What is this?" Pendragon said, looking at the ice wall.

"Ice magic, of course," Stacy said, shrugging.

"I can see that, but why is my sister on the other side of it?"

"Well, she is being held prisoner by my daughter. Didn't you know this already?" Stacy said, tilting her head at him and mocking him.

"So, tell her to open up," Pendragon said, getting frustrated.

"I already tried to call her, but she is unreachable. I think her scroll is out of power." Stacy explained, shrugging.

"She can recharge her scroll with mana, though. Why isn't she doing that? Is she dumb or something?" Pendragon's guard muttered, making everyone look at him.

"I don't know. I can't see through walls," Stacy said, shrugging, ignoring that the Pendragon guard talked like that.

"She is your daughter, isn't she?" Pendragon said, stopping to glare at his guard.

"She is Adopted, but yes."

"Fuck this," Pendragon said, slamming his fist into the ice wall.

crack

"Ugh!"

"Did you just break your hand?" Stacy asked, amused.

"..." Ignoring her, Pendragon coated his hand with wind magic before putting it on the ice and starting to slash at it.

"Hmm, this is going to take a while. Get us some chairs, please." Stacy asked, looking at the closest maid to her.

"Will do, ma'am." The maids said this, turning around.

"Kayda, is there any update you haven't told me about?" Stacy asked, this time looking at me.

"Hehe, well, you see," I said, looking away and laughing awkwardly.

"I can see that her ice magic became something really annoying to deal with, but not perfect just yet," Stacy said, looking at the ice wall again.

"Yes, I am also surprised it got this strong just from her new discovery," I said, sharing my honest feelings about her ice wall.

"New discovery?" Stacy said, raising an eyebrow at me.

"Yes, she's got something new to show you," I explained, nodding.

"And you aren't going to tell me?" Stacy asked, knowing what I would say.

"Even if I do, you won't understand what I am saying."

"Hmm."

[30 minutes later]

[Kitsu Pov]

"Hey, we aren't even talking, and you are making dumb mistakes," I said, again taking the unsuspecting girl's queen.

"Dammit, I didn't see your knight." Dea said, fuming.

'They have been trying to break the ice for 34 minutes already. Why are they struggling that much? Kayda should be able to blast it apart in seconds.' I thought, looking at the doorway that had started getting small cracks in the ice layer.

"Hey, what are you looking at?" Dea said, looking at me with narrowed eyes.

"Well, at the door, of course," I said sarcastically.

"That's not a door anymore. That's just an Ice wall." She said it, scoffing.

"Why did you move your king?"

"Uh, because he hasn't moved yet?"

"But you could have done castling."

"I could do what now?"

"Didn't I explain it to you?" I said, confused, while showing her the move.

"What you could do is that."

"Yeah, only if those two pieces haven't moved, though."

"Oh, I get it."

"Yeah, but anyway, checkmate," I said, moving my queen in check and mating her.

"What!! This isn't fair." Miss Gullible, she said, putting her head on the table and sulking again.

"Let's try this again, shall we?" I said, starting to pack the board again for another game.

"Fine,"

Just when she got back up to start a new game, the ice wall that was in front of the door exploded.

Boom!

"Kyaa!!"

"Well then," I said, turning to my side and grinning, looking at the man that broke my ice wall floating in mid-air with one fist extended towards me with mom holding it back a few centimeters away from me while I myself had an ice whip around his sister's neck.

"What is this?" The man said, baffled, seeing his arm starting to bleed.

"I would like to know as well why did you try and attack me, huh?" I said, creating a great sword while standing up slowly, still holding the whip in my other hand.

'As I thought, it won't stop someone like a leader.' I thought, looking at Mom and giving her a happy smile.

"Huh, brother? You are here already?" The gullible girl said this with a hint of joy, even though she was bound with my whip.

"No, no, we are still busy here," I said, tying her up as well with invisible wires.

"Huh?"

"You let go of my sister," Pendragon said, breaking a few of the invisible wires holding him in the air.

"Nah, why would I do that?"

"I already made a deal with your mother, Kitsuna Draig," Pendragon said, making me tilt my head at Mom before looking back at him.

Why aren't Kayda or Mom saying anything? Do they want a show again? Ugh, that's annoying. Why do they always put me in situations where I need to gamble against a guy three times my strength? I thought, annoyed, looking at Mom, who was only smiling at me.

"Yeah, I know, but that deal didn't include you almost attacking me," I said, grinning down at him.

"... haha, and what are you going to do about it?" The man said, sending out small wind blades and cutting all my invisible wire that was holding him at bay.

"Oh, I don't know, maybe take your sister's life," I said, moving the whip around.

"You aren't fast enough," Pendragon said, looking at the whip in my hand.

"Don't you guys already had a list of my skills?" I said, genuinely confused at him.

"We do, of course."

"Then you know I love my bombs, right?"

"You dare threaten me." The man said, putting his hand on his blade, with Mom narrowing her eyes at him.

"Hey, it's an insurance, man, it's an insurance," I said, holding up my arms and laughing.

"Tsk, I should have known. What do you want then?"

"One of your arms, please. I would prefer your right arm." I said, smiling, pointing at his right arm.

"... what?" Everyone said, surprised.

"Come on, give it to me," I said, holding out my hand and waiting to receive it.

"Fine," Pendragon said, swiftly cutting off his arm without a grunt, surprisingly.

"Brother."

"Thank you," I said, taking his arm. Not waiting long, I engulfed his arm with black fire.

"Augh!!!" Shouting in pain, Pendragon grabbed his head, with his remaining arm falling to the floor unconscious.

"Oh, that's how it works," I said, amused, extinguishing my devil's fire.

"Commander!!" People yelled, running in and jumping in front of Pendragon with their swords and weapons out.

"Oh, now you guys are the ones threatening me?" I said, creating ice needles in the air aimed at them.

"What have you done to the commander!?" One of the three soldiers yelled, pointing his sword at me.

"Sheesh, the Federation dogs get dumber and dumber the more I meet. Where do you think you are!!" I shouted, pressuring them with my killing intent making all of them drop to a knee though Mom did join in with the killing intent.

"Okay, that's enough for the show." Mom said, clapping her hands and getting in between me and the Federation soldiers.

"Are you happy now? It's really annoying if you guys do this." I said, dispelling all of my mana in the room.

"I know, but seeing you put people in their place is always fun." Mom said, laughing, putting her arm around my shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah, I am done," I said, teleporting away to my training grounds.

"Brother!!" Miss Gullible said the moment I disappeared.
