She was waiting for him at the gates of the castle with Loretta, Sianna and Ylvia behind her and when he got down from his carriage, she skipped over to him, forgetting all about her manners.
He held her in pleasant surprise. "You look beautiful and our baby has grown so much." He rubbed her belly that could no longer be kept a secret beneath her clothes.
The entire kingdom now knew she was pregnant and the number of gifts she had received within a short time was baffling, not that she was complaining.
"You have been gone for two months. What did you expect?" She berated him.
He hadn't realized it had been that long and he felt guilty for leaving her. "I missed you every day." He told her. It was true but it sounded like an excuse so he didn't dwell on it.
"I'm here now and hope I never have to leave you."
