Before he could take a step away from her Adeline shot up, raised herself on her knees and held his hand stopping him effectively.
"Before you even think of leaving me alone—"
Xavier interrupted before she could finish, "I am going to get you a glass of water, Adeline."
She gulped and let go of his wrist but did not take her eyes off him. Suffice to say that Ireland did not trust you Xavier to run away from this and keep on blaming himself.
But Xavier had done exactly what he had told her that he would do. He moved to the corner of the room where a glass and a jug were kept. Pouring some water into the glass he brought it to her and made her drink at least half of it.
"Thank you," Adeline said once she handed the cup to him and he kept it on the side.
Xavier nodded in return but pulled her by her hand and made her sit on the bed. They were sitting face to face but on the edge of the bed and none of them made a move to sit in the centre.
