Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: In Which She Introduces

"And CUT!" Our director coach, Cecilia yelled. The woman was a never satisfied bull. Constantly pushing her subjects to remember who was in control. Little did she know that most of these emotions in these dances and scripts were reality to the majority.

I and James had been dancing for years, we knew each other well. And that dance wasn't an act... Well not to me. But he could feign it. They always could feign it. The rest of us, Couldn't. We were just smarter on when to reveal it.

"Congratulations, you sons of bitches have a break for two weeks. Don't come back bigger than some of you already are. And don't end up dead otherwise I won't pop up at your fucking funerals." She snapped

"What my wife meant to say-" Matt, her husband said as he gave her a glare "-was be safe. Happy and congratulations you got a break from her. Lucky you, not me." He joked and we laughed.

Earning glare from her but a teasing one. He was such a sweetheart and she a serpent but find them away from reality and inside their own bubble. The devil's spawn was actually a sweetheart.

I hated her for that.

"Anyway please remember to sign out and enjoy your vacation break and we'll be in contact if scenes need to be retaken or whatever. Be free but no trouble please." He said as he waved us off.

We chored our goodbyes then hurried to change before Cecilia could call us for rules. After having showered, I changed into my fresh set of clothes and pulled my hair into a ponytail.

Locking up my changing room, I hurried to reception to sign out and grab my payslip. As soon as I was done, I stepped outside, taking in a deep breath I let out a sigh as I finally felt relaxed.

Freedom

I've been working at San Production for years and though it was hard I had finally made it as one of the main performers but it doesn't mean it was easy. It was exhausting but sometimes completely amazing. Yet as time went on, I realized that there was something missing, It's not like I didn't like dancing or acting. I loved it. I just hated the rules and regulations that came with it.

The sound of a car bell snapped me out of my thoughts and I focused on reality as a car came in sight. A grey mustang, one that I knew was solely owned by my dance partner James Klein.

The boy was easily adored by everyone from first sight, a charming personality plus an amazing actor. He could have just easily gotten any role at any big production since his family's business was a huge one but he said he'd rather earn it himself.

How sweet.

"Do you need a lift?" He asked loudly over his blasting music. He gave me a sweet smile but another gave me a sore look.

You know how there's always that one person that hates you for no reason or because you get some attention from a person they like? Yes well, I had one person who hated my guts ever since she got the job as a back dancer.

So seated in his car, with the pissy look was Terri. A young dancer that had so much experience dancing but not much experience in seeing that a man couldn't stand her. Amazing how life works huh?

Let's just say Terri and I didn't see eye to eye since James and I were paired. The girl is territorial for a guy who wouldn't bat his eyes thrice for her. She was insanely beautiful though. Her body perfected with clear skin and curls. But James had always complained about how there was something off about her.

"Not today James I brought my ride," I replied as I motioned to my black motorcycle with a proud smile.

"Now that is a ride." He replied with a whistle as he quickly got out of his car.

"My baby. I know." I cooed as I looked at her.

"Finally got her sorted I see. Well, I definitely want a feel of this later." He said as he circled her.

"I wouldn't mind James and you know it," I said with a smile

"But?" He questioned with a raised brow

"But I'm heading back home. It's been too long." I said as my smile turned forced.

"Oh." For some reason, his smile seemed sad but then he nodded as he stepped back. I got on the bike and tightened my back strap.

"In the future," I said with a smile, I placed my helmet on and started the ride. Quickly giving him a nod, I drove off.

Goodbye James.
