Listen to Birdy- Take my heart. Have it on loop.

Enjoy!

...

The sound of her heartbeat was the only thing that kept me going, I didn't know what to say nor what to do but I knew that listening to her heartbeat, was the only thing that kept me from going over the edge.

For days they waited, after a while, those days began to turn into weeks and it didn't mean nor soothe the ache in her heart. Aria wanted to scream because it meant more bad news, everyday they checked up on her mother.

Every day those nurses became her mothers, asking if she ate or rested but she couldn't. All she could remember was the words she told her mother, the venom she had let drip of her mouth all because she detested a man.

Now she watched the man walk in and out every day, sit across her and talk all different kinds of stories to her mother. Hoping that she would listen and try to respond, in any kind of way. Aria did something different.

Aria watched the sun go down, she watched the moon come up. She watched the routine of the world as though she was mother nature, as though she controlled all that was within the world. She couldn't control the choices of the humans but she did befriend karma and it seemed as though Aria had forgotten how karma was not biased to anyone.

No matter the power.

Right now Aria would give up her place as mother nature so that she could be God and heal her mother within an instant, she would change everything and give her mother happiness. She would take back her words and remember that her mother was still a little girl inside out.

She would do anything to save that princess stuck in a tower as though she was princess Fiona and forget if her prince was an ugly Shrek as long as she loved him and he saved her, she wouldn't care. Yet it seemed as though everything had changed and she was the dragon, she was trying to kill the bloody ogre but instead she burned her mother.

And it killed her, it wrecked her so much that she didn't know how to live with herself anymore.

Yet now the bruises on her skin turned dirty and made her seem like a beggar saved from the streets of repulsion and all she wanted was to save herself. Aria was disgusted with herself, she did this, this was her burden.

She heard James take a deep breath before he started singing,

"Fallen so far

Said you'd watch over my heart

Your love was so real

Too late to forget how you made me feel

Tell me what I was supposed to believe

Held me so close I could hardly breathe

And now I can't find how to let you go

You were mine but you've grown so cold"

My tears fell as I heard him sing the song calmly, he measured everything correctly and all but my heart felt heavy, so I joined him,

"Say it's all in my head

I remember when you said

I'll never let you go

Held me in the dark

Sheltered as you took my heart

I could never let you go, ooh

Say it's all in my head

Remember when you said

I'll never let you go

Oh, hold me in the dark

Sheltered as you take my heart

Take my heart."

I went quiet and let James continue with the verse,

"Kiss me, pretend

Tell me all your love lies again

Cast your shadows

Like how you said you'd catch me but let me go

You said I could have been free if I wanted to

I know you could see I was lost in you

Said you'd let me be if I wanted you to

And I know you'll leave but I don't want you to"

He went quiet again, letting me take the chorus again,

"Say it's all in my head

I remember when you said

I'll never let you go

Held me in the dark

Sheltered as you took my heart

I could never let you go, ooh

Say it's all in my head

Remember when you said

I'll never let you go

Oh, hold me in the dark

Sheltered as you take my heart

Take my heart"

We stopped as we heard the door open with a folder, his face filled with sorrow and I knew what was coming, would not tune out this singing of redemption.

"I'm so sorry but it's not looking good," he said.
