Noah tripped on his toes when he heard Jess's question. In sheer panic, he looked at Ellise, seeking some kind of wisdom on how to handle his woman. In split second he had forgotten what side Ellise was. He was reminded of the harsh truth when his eyes met hers and she had given him a devilish jeer—mocking him that he was on his own.
Noah was saved by his own daughter who pirouetted, clapping her hands in excitement.
