A week went by with Jibril silently praying for a miracle. Angelo was taking too long to get home. Did something happen to them? He could only hope that they just got delayed.
His heart worried for them and also an additional person. He missed her presence. Her teary blue eyes reminded him of the night sky whenever he gazed into them.
He could still feel her lips on his. Her scent marked him as her own. He had known what she was doing when she asked for an embrace. She was marking him.
He had let her. Her scent lingered on his skin but it was slowly fading away. Something he didn't like. He wanted to feel comforted by it.
Fortunately, he was an expert at masking scents. Not even his sister had noticed it. Jibril could hardly concentrate on the job at hand. He walked out of the office and directly into the field.
