"What happened to these two?" Muntaha asked as he watched Mariam wipe the woman's face. Lying side by side were two individuals.
He didn't recognise either of them. They simply fell from the sky or so he thought. There was no other way he could describe the mystery of their appearance.
Marian ignored his question as she concentrated on the unconscious woman. The second the two landed, she knew that they were in trouble.
One was exhausted from the excessive loss of blood. The other was barely alive from the venom that had concentrated in her system.
She, with Muntaha's help, moved the pair into an empty room and placed them side by side. Unlike Muntaha who doubted the arrangement, Mariam knew better.
She saw the two before they appeared at her doorstep. She even knew their story. Perhaps in their current setting, she could take that as a blessing.
