The updated Loving Sacrifice ability did the impossible, just now. It managed to inject real hope and confidence where it hadn't been before. Although there was some concern in Kaori's heart over her goddess's missing eye, whatever the price for this had been, Kaori couldn't argue with the results.
Most of Amber's guards managed to survive this skirmish thanks to this new development.
As the Lust demons retreated, the guards cheered and raised their fists to the air, celebrating this moment. Kaori was happy to see the morale improving. At the same time, however, although this had certainly increased their chances of making it till Ash comes and rescues them, she understood that they couldn't afford to get arrogant. Niven hadn't sent his strongest demons, after all. Not by a long shot.
