Xu Ye did not show any signs of waking up along the way. He seemed to be experiencing some pain as he kept mumbling in his sleep. His words were unclear and he kept breaking out in cold sweat.
Everyone, including Chi Jiao, was worried about him. They waited by his bed for more than an hour before he finally woke up.
"No, no! No!!" Xu Ye seemed to be having a nightmare. He jolted awake and sat up straight. His forehead was covered in sweat from fear.
"Xu Ye, are you alright? You don't have to be afraid. We are all here with you." Chi Jiao went forward and quickly comforted him.
Xu Ye heaved a sigh of relief when he saw her. He was so excited that he wanted to hug her. "Jiaojiao—!"
However, Quan Jue had already taken a step forward and pulled her into his arms before Xu Ye could touch a strand of Chi Jiao's hair. He punched him in the head.
Xu Ye screamed like a pig being slaughtered. "Quan Jue! Are you crazy?!"
