Quan Jue and Chi Jiao retraced their steps.
On the way, Quan Jue did not speak. His expression was indifferent, and no one could read his thoughts.
Chi Jiao could tell at a glance that there was something on his mind.
Just as they were about to walk out of the forest, she stopped in her tracks.
Quan Jue stopped as well. He turned to look at her and finally asked, "Why aren't you leaving?"
"Brother Quan, what's wrong?" Chi Jiao asked instead, staring at him with her big, black, gem-like eyes.
"Nothing," Quan Jue replied indifferently.
"There's something on your mind," Chi Jiao said with certainty. "Brother Quan, don't hide it from me. If you have anything you want to say, just say it. It's not good to keep it in your heart."
Seeing how serious and adorable she was, Quan Jue couldn't help but curl his rose-colored lips.
He reached out to pinch her petite face and whispered, "I'm really alright."
