CHAPTER SEVENTY FIVE
"Jason, what are you doing in Toronto?" McKenna felt her skin tingle.
She was surprised to see him. She felt betrayed by Canada. Like the country should have warned her that someone she left Nigeria for was crossing over the territory to the country she now calls home.
She felt the pounding heart in her chest become faster and faster. She stared at him like he was a ghost of a dead ancestor that was back to haunt her except this man didn't need a ghost to haunt.
Her memory of him did the job well. She felt her mouth go dry and the little tingling sensation in her throat and she swallowed hard.
Would it be wrong to take Luca's hand and keep running? McKenna was confused and she didn't know how to react. She just stood there on the spot looking at Jason. Maybe if she stared hard enough at him, he would disappear. It was possible he was a figment of her imagination, right?
