Claudette eventually registered the same thing that Clement wanted to curse out loud about.
Her eyes shot from the piece of furniture then straight back to him. He wasn't sure what he had been expecting. They were posing as a couple, after all. Even then, seeing the lonesome bed pushed against the far wall suddenly made his stomach drop.
Clement really wanted to curse at Eric for coming up with such a stupid idea.
"Mr. and Mrs. Hudson, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask," the girl chimed in again, making him snap out of his thoughts.
"Thank you, young lady," Claudette said with a smile, her face slightly flushed.
She gave her a polite nod before turning to leave. Right when she's about to close the door, though, she looks at them one last time and goes on to say, "Oh, and congratulations on your wedding."
