Eric looks astonished, though she really can't blame him. Seraphine already prepared herself for this inquiry since her meeting with the Emperor the other day. The dinner had been pleasant - even more so when he acknowledged her as the Crown Prince's chosen maiden. In fact, he was quite intrigued about her.
Perhaps, it had to do with how she used dark magic to save the day last time, which was something that had never happened before in the whole empire's history. It was thanks to that, as well as the news that she has become Merlin's first-ever apprentice, that her innocence was proven.
"I know what you are thinking, Your Highness. But you got it wrong. Death is too easy for the Grand Archduke..." Seraphine reasoned with an ambiguous smile.
