As much as Eric wants to take his time reassuring Seraphine, he is afraid that he can't leave the situation outside for too long.
Besides, he already did more than enough this evening. He got to spend time with her, confess his feelings, and even kiss her over and over again - it surpassed everything he had ever hoped for. That's why he had to come back to reality. He fears that all of this will only be a fleeting dream if he is to stay while the world outside is in chaos.
Something is bound to come to an end once one decides to disregard everything else.
Eric won't let this end here, though. He won't let Seraphine go this time around.
"I promise I'll be back, milady. I won't leave you again..." he reassured her once more before he leaned down and kissed her for the last time.
"So, please, wait for me a little longer."
