Seraphine took a deep breath before she made her way inside the Magic Tower with Seid and Tyke.
The tower rose as a might oak upon a grassy field. It was the most sincere of greys, that deep slate-blue. Under a sky that changed by the moment, it felt like a sense of permanence and perspective on the passage of time.
They stood upon the gateway, upon the ancient stones.
To Seraphine, the walls of that tower seem to be the strongest thing for miles around, yet when she looks carefully, she notices that it is built of stones of varying sizes and shapes, each one unique. From a distance, it's uniform grey. From up close, it's a mosaic of humble rocks, each of them nobody would think anything of were they loose by the roadside. But together, they are this tower - the wisest of this landscape and protector of ancient knowledge.
"Lady Seraphine, there's something I've got to tell you..." Tyke called out from behind, making Seraphine turn to look at him.
