"W-what. Do you m-mean to say? Where are you going now?' Veronica's speech shuddered as she asked with the uncertainty written on her face. Her heart was making her head go insane when Max rotated himself to look at his beloved partner.
"I know this came as a shock to you but I got a call from my father. I will have to return to the Smith family for once...and a few days." Max told her honestly, making the tears appear in Veronica's eyes. Her lips parted, but no words came out with the thought that they might be separated out of the blue.
"B-But is this necessary?" she asked again, receiving a nod from his side "I don't know what has happened there but dad has called me on an urgent basis."
"But why so suddenly? Your father was fine with you living here? And didn't you say that you will talk with your father about us and..o-our marriage as well?" Veronica can't help but feel shivers down her spine.
