"Do you know why he ended up in the police station?" She asks a rhetorical question, "Those boys came right at him because he had no one around him— Liam who he thought was genuinely friends with him, happened to just be a god who was sent by Connor to monitor him. He probably felt alone and he let those boys hit him." Aubrey starts talking and Kai's eyebrows furrow. "He was hoping one of the gods that claim to be on our side would protect him the way they protect his sister, but that wasn't the case."
"What?" Kai lowers his head to make eye contact with the brunette.
"No one came to save him from those disgusting teenagers so he had to protect himself, that's why he was at police station."
"No, stop. Aubrey, did you come to that conclusion yourself or your brother said that to you?"
She sniffs, "Does it matter?"
