As the snow fell around them, they headed inside to the warmth of Brody's New York home in the suburbs.
Once inside, Aurora just stood staring at Violet with a toothless grin. "Hi! I'm Aurora Dawn Ashford. Who are you?"
"Well, hello Miss Aurora. I'm Violet. I'm your daddy's assistant at work. That is a very cool shirt you have on. Unicorns are my favorite." Violet squatted down to meet the little girl's height.
"Really? Me too. Daddy bought me a big one for my birthday. I'm five." Aurora pointed to herself.
"Well, that is a good daddy who gets a girl a unicorn. Don't you think?"
"Yep. He is the best daddy ever."
"I agree. He is the best boss ever too."
"My Aunt Faith says he's boring."
"Aurora," he scolded. "I'm not boring. Your aunt is just crazy."
"Daddy, can Miss Violet have dinner with us? Aunt Grace is here with Grandpa. She made dinner."
Brody looked up in surprise. "Dad and Grace are here? Dad!"
