Michael returned home feeling drained and confused. He had forgotten all about being hungry. After what he witnessed, he didn't know if he could ever eat again. Exiting the shower, he tried to keep from breaking. The trail of Zara's blood seeping down the drain was a grim reminder of what he had seen.
Still in shock from the ordeal, he went to the mirror rubbing away the steam. Finally, he felt the tears escaped him. He never cried, but he had also never seen anything so traumatic in his life. Even seeing fighters in the wrestling ring get injured was never like this. He turned and saw the woman's blood, stained on his clothes in the corner. He picked them up, throwing them away. He didn't want a memory of that mortifying experience.
