After a month in the hospital, Eric finally woke up.
Haolei took a break from his work and happily tended to him.
This morning he opened the window drapes letting in the fresh morning sunlight. "it's such a pleasant morning. shall we go on a walk today?"
Eric blankly stared at the ceiling.
"I brought some watermelons. We can go smash them. I have invited Yuna to visit us. You remember Yuna right?"
Eric finally gazed at him. "Can I have my mobile phone?"
Haolei froze. "I… I think it's too soon. Why don't you watch some tv." He switched on the tv in the room. An old song was playing. He handed the remote to Eric. "What do you want for breakfast?"
Eric wordlessly took the remote. He silently kept changing the channels and when he ran out of channels to see he switched it off.
"Eric… you can't stay in your room all your life."
Eric laid back down. "I want my phone."
