Aaron and Altren reached the academy along with the other licensed supers. Most of them were teachers here, and the others were taking care of separate parts of the city. they all came together to take care of the terrorist incident.
"I heard someone caused a ruckus here. A newbie?" one of the superheroes mumbled glancing at the destroyed hallways.
Aaron frowned slightly. "I'll go check on Kang,"
"No, go take care of that rumor. I'll check on Kang.," Altren nodded to his uncle; to go towards his study.
Altren pouted. "but.."
"Great power comes with great responsibility mister Aaron. Go do your job," he hopped away happily towards Kang's room.
For now only he and Kang's brother knew of his real identity. He did not want to expose anything to his uncle.
Reaching the door he happily went to knock, but the sight of the uneaten food tray made him hesitate a bit.
"Kang... are you okay?"
He gently knocked on the door.
"..."
"Kang, I have something very import7ant to talk to you."
"....."
Altren sighed loudly. "I'm going to break the door. I'll definitely get it fixed," he flexed his arms ready to punch a hole through it.
But the door opened and a sullen-looking Kang peered at him. "'don't fuckin' bother me."
"Ah you decide to show your face at last," he pushed his way inside his room. The whole place was neat and today, even the bed sheets were cleanly folded.
This was not Kang's usual behavior.
Zhu Kang he knew was extremely messy leaving food crumbs everywhere…he literally did not care to straighten things up.
But today the room was neat and tidy.
Altren sighed. 'He is in a bad state.....'
Obsessively cleaning and keeping things in order was not normal....
"Get out Altren. I don't want to talk to you."
"I know you don't. But you have to listen to me Kang. It's very important,"
"How important huh! Important that Lia?!" Kang screamed loudly..
Altren took a deep breath. "Look I know you are angry and sad about his kidnapping but the heroes...."
"Heroes are doing nothing! All they do is talk shit with that condescending look on their faces!" Kang pranced around pulling at his hair.
"Hey," Altren grabbed a hold of his arm. "Calm down."
"You don't tell me to calm down. I have every right to be angry! I have every right to feel sad! That small kid was kidnapped only because of your fault! If only you had listened to me you could have saved him! Yet you didn't! Now you want me to listen to you?! What makes you think that I even want to do that! I hate to look at your face"
"Kang!" Altren glared down at him. "Or should I call you younger Gemini twin?! Hmm? you have no right to talk back to me in a just manner! You are a fucking villain! I could cuff you and throw you in prison if I want. So god darn it, stop infuriating me!"
Zhu Kang stumbled back; he leaned against the bed frame. He tightly clenched the metal bar of his bed.
He was in shock….
The blinding pain seared from his healing shoulders to all over his body, waking him up from his dazed state.
'How did he know.. How did he find out about this... oh fuck.. I really should have kept my distance e. Now... I'm going to lose my freedom again. I'm going to be stuck in a jail cell.... again! Oh fuck no...'
Without a second delay, he dashed out of the room.
"Kang! You! stop right now! why do you like running away so much? Stand and face your problem! Stand and answer me, you bastard!"
Kang gritted his teeth loudly. 'Yeah right.... as if. Why would I do something so stupid?! Yes, Lia got kidnapped... but what can I do to help if I get imprisoned. I won't be of much help. These fucking heroes won't do anything to help.' he kept running.
So many seasoned heroes who were returning to the academy stood in his way.
He ran past him.
One woman with flaming red hair suddenly stopped in his way twirling her hair with a seductive smile.
'What is she doing?' he turned slightly to run past her but she sidestepped and stopped in front of him again.
"Move,"
"Looks like you are on the run," the girl grabbed his right shoulder and squeezed it tightly. His healing wound started to bleed again.
Kang hissed loudly. 'Right where it hurts... AH! lady let go...' he silently glared down at her.
"let go of him." Aaron who was close by, came to his rescue and pulled him out of her death grip. 'why are you hurting him?"
"He was running so fast in the hallway. He could have hurt someone with his recklessness…," the girl innocently tilted her head. "Aaron~ why was this guy running anyway? he looks like he is being chased… and he looks suspicious.."
Aaron gently hugged him close.
'Oh, my saving grace you are here. Save me from your lunatic nephew!' Kang glanced up at him. The young hero looked super worriedly touching his now bleeding shoulder.
"you did not heal well.... I'll take you to the infirmary,"
"Aaron wait, wait..." Altren came running. "I have to talk to him."
Kang tightly clung to Aaron's clothes. 'Oh my fucking god, no way. I am not ready to go to jail. I am not..... not yet.' He glanced up at him, pleading with his eyes.
Aaron subtly nodded. "He's bleeding and needs medical assistance,"
"Uncle!'
"You were the new guy, right? Why are you so nervous? Did you do something wrong? Or were you an accomplice with that snakehead gang," the redhead girl whispered with a devious smirk.
Kang felt his heart stop. h-how did she…. oh my god, does everyone know....that's it. I'm done for. System! Help me! Save this pitiful soul from misery!'
